Table of Prayers

Novena for a Stress-Free Pregnancy and Delivery

The patron saint of expecting mothers is St. Gerard Majella. This is because, just before he died, he dropped his handkerchief, and a young girl attempted to retrieve it. He encouraged her to preserve it since she “might need it someday.” Years after Gerard’s death, the girl who had married and became pregnant was about to give birth to her child. She did, however, recall the handkerchief and requested that it be brought to her. The discomfort subsided, and she gave birth to a healthy child.

We will pray for St. Gerard’s intercession during this novena, but the prayers will mostly focus on how God accompanied Mary during her pregnancy and the delivery of Jesus. It serves as a reminder that God is with you or those you care about during pregnancy and childbirth.
